Billtown Farms Social Committee
Posted on Jun 20, 2010
The BF HOA Board of Directors has appointed a three member (Jessica Wise, Angelique Wheeler, Sharon Adams) social committee with a budget of $1000 to plan activities that will bring us together as a neighborhood. The committee met Sunday, June 13th to discuss possibilities. One of the ideas presented was an outdoor community celebration in mid October, an Octoberfest, if you will. A variety of fun activities for adults and children is the goal, culminating in the evening with a musical concert featuring several groups or bands…if the price if right! Possible activities scheduled throughout the afternoon and evening at various times and neighborhood locales include: chili cook-off & tasting, beer garden, hay rides, competitive games and tournaments such as tugs of war, cornhole, croquet, karoke, bonfire, face painting, etc. The sky’s the limit pending funds, helping hands, and ideas. Email jessicawise33@gmail.com or call 502-931-5491 to contribute your ideas, time, skills, or talents. (Jessica has experience as an event planner.)  Please check out the Message Board to post any additional ideas.

Speed Humps Update
Posted on Jun 10, 2010
We have been in touch with our councilmember's office, Stuart Benson, about getting speed humps installed along Longview Farm Drive.  In order to get the city to survey that street and install speed humps we must complete the adequate forms, get signatures of homeowners around that street and pay for half of the cost.  Each speed hump costs $2200, so we would be responsible for $1100 for each.  We currently do not have the funds in our budget to do this.  If we get enough support, we can budget for this for 2011 or over the next few years but it would likely mean an increase in dues.  If you have any comments or ideas, please post them or start a Topic on the Message Board.
